I am interested in recruiting students working broadly in feminist political geography. I currently am fortunate to work with Chris Neubert, Pallavi Gupta, Carlos Serrano, Adrienne Hall, and Lara Lookabaugh.

I have supervised three completed PhDs:

Mike Dimpfl (co-advised with Banu Gokariksel) graduated in 2016 and is currently a fellow at Duke University with the Thompson Writing Program. His dissertation is “Clean U: Cleanliness, Social difference and the dirty work of everyday hygiene.”

Mabel Gergan graduated in 2016 and is now an assistant professor at Vanderbilt University. We continue to work together on our project on marginalized youth in India. Her dissertation is titled, “Precarity and possibility at the margins: Hazards, infrastructure, and indigenous politics in Sikkim, India.”

Pavithra Vasudevan graduated in 2018, and is now an assistant professor at the University of Texas at Austin in the African & African Diaspora Studies Department. Her dissertation is titled, “Searching in Aluminum’s Shadows: Black Geographies & Industrial Toxicity in North Carolina.”
